MOSAIC: Strong Collaborations For Strong Future Project

The "MOSAIC; Strong Collaborations For Strong Future Project" was successfully completed by the Samandağ Agricultural Development Cooperative under the ENHANCER (Enhancement of Entrepreneurship Capacities for Sustainable Socio-Economic Integration) program. This initiative, supported by European Union funding, was carried out under the coordination of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology and ICMPD.

Post-Earthquake Reconstruction and Resilience:

• Following the February 6th earthquake, the project successfully rebuilt the institutional and technical capacity of the cooperative, revitalizing regional agriculture.

• Despite post-earthquake infrastructure challenges, a modern production facility compliant with food hygiene standards and a permanent workspace for cooperative members were established.

• This initiative secured the institutional sustainability of our cooperative and reinforced its presence in the region.
   

Technical Capacity and Innovative Production:

• A modern fruit and vegetable drying unit with an annual capacity of 900 tons, along with fully equipped preparation lines, has been put into operation.

• A professional laboratory unit capable of conducting aflatoxin analyses, critical for food safety and export potential, was established.

• Production of innovative products such as mandarin, orange, and tomato powder, which will provide high value-added to the regional economy, has commenced.
   

Employment and Social Cohesion:

• A total of 8 new jobs were created within the scope of the project, consisting of local citizens and neighbors under temporary protection.

• This employment model provided a tangible contribution to social solidarity while strengthening socio-economic integration in the region.
   

Market Access and Digital Transformation:

• Our cooperative products reach consumers across Türkiye directly through national digital platforms such as HepYerinden (supported by FAO) and Pazarama.

• Thanks to strategic cooperation with Samandağ Municipality and their support for additional facilities, the cooperative's operational strength has been secured for the long term.
